I'm Hannah B, wedding & portrait photographer based in New York State. I'm a lover of intricate details and story telling- both visually & through writing. Here you will find glimpses of my life as a photographer, wife, dog-lover & Chick fil-A obsessed creative!
Miranda King and Andrew Van Dyk exchanged vows in the back yard of their home in New Jersey, on the most STUNNING spring day, surrounded by all their favorite people! This wedding took months of planning (and replanning, and replanning again!) Now that it has finally come and gone, I can say that every bump in the road was well worth it. I couldn’t have dreamed up a prettier evening for them to celebrate their love and dance alongside all their best friends. While this day was far different than the plans they started nearly three years ago, it was still downright magical. Buckle up, y’all—this blog post is about to be a doozie!
This bride and I go way back. And by way back, I mean welllllllll over a decade. We played basketball against each other in high school, and our hometowns were long-time rivals. Had you told me 15 years ago that I’d be the one documenting Miranda King’s wedding in her backyard in New Jersey… I would have thought you were clinically insane. (Mostly because there was absolutely no way that THE Miranda King would ever be friends with a girl like me!) Miranda and her best friends have ALWAYS been drop-dead gorgeous, ridiculously stylish, and so dang cool. Seriously- I remember seeing images of them with popped collars posted on MySpace, and only wishing I could pull off such antics. They went on to graduate, making equally stunning friends while in college, living it up in New York City, and aging like fine wine. You can only imagine how surreal it was the moment she messaged me on Instagram saying she would NEVER get married without me there. (LIKE WHAT?!??! SOMEONE PINCH ME.) To say I have a serious girl crush on Miranda and all her friends would be the understatement of the century. They always have been, and always will be, the coolest girls I know!
Long story short- this wedding was stupidly beautiful and reminded me that life is just really freaking cool. I spent the weekend hanging out with people I only dreamed of being friends with a decade ago. I documented stunning humans, was treated as one of their own, and ate really delicious cake. I spent hours in my car thinking about life, dancing to all my favorite music, and reflecting on how grateful I am for the last year. It hasn’t always been easy, but the fact that I have brides who continually trust me to document their wedding days (whether they take place in New York, New Jersey, a venue, or their own back yard) has left me so thankful. This little business is run by me, myself, and I… but it’s fueled by a whole lot of love and support from the world around me. For that, I’m so incredibly grateful.
Miranda & Andrew— thank you for allowing me to be part of your beautiful day. Your perseverance and resilience through this challenging planning process has been downright incredible, and I can’t wait for you to relive this day over and over again! Enjoy scrolling your wedding day recap; there are so many more where these came from!!
Everyone deserves best friends like Ashlyn & Sloan, who gaze at you like proud dance moms while you’re having your portraits done! hahaha! I just love these people.
