If you would have asked me five years ago what I thought I’d be doing half a decade down the road, I can guarantee that I never would have answered “traveling the world and shooting weddings for a living.” Sometimes it’s hard, even now, to comprehend that this is really my job. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d become a wedding photographer, let alone a traveling one! And here I am… loving every second of this life I’ve been blessed with.

It’s funny to me how things have an unexplainable way of working out. Last wedding season, I was completely booked the month of July, yet I left one Saturday open for no apparent reason at all. I had the opportunity to book a wedding that date, several times in fact, and for some reason I always declined. I didn’t think I could manage another event that month and that it may be nice to have a weekend off. Then the beginning of July rolled around and I received a frantic email from a bride and her family. Their photographer had cancelled on them, just three weeks before their wedding date, leaving them with no one to capture one of the most important days of their lives.

Guess what day it was. The one Saturday I had left open for months.

Had I not left that date open on my calendar, I never would have met the Rodriguez family and captured Dominick & Sarah’s wedding. Had I never captured Dom & Sarah’s wedding, I never would have had the pleasure to meet Jason & Nichole. Had I never met Jason & Nichole, I never would have flown to Mexico last week to capture this destination wedding.

If you ever wonder if God is real, I’m living proof that His grace extends beyond fathomable lengths, His plans are always to prosper, and He has a serious sense of humor.

So about Jason & Nichole– seriously y’all, these people are the best. They are the most laid-back bride and groom I have every encountered in my entire photographic career. Surrounded by their immediate family & amazing group of friends, Jason & Nichole committed their lives to each other on the gorgeous beach at Iberostar Resort in Cancun, Mexico. I’m not even sure that pictures can do justice to how beautiful and blue the water truly is. I had the time of my life capturing this wedding and celebrating alongside such an amazingly fun group of people. They were so inviting and joyful. It was a true honor to spend a few days in the sun, celebrating Jason & Nichole’s love with all of them!

Jason & Nichole: There are no words. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to capture such a beautiful day in such a picture-perfect place. I would do this all over again if I could! It was amazing to see how all your friends and family came together to help make your dream destination wedding a reality. (I don’t think you could have picked a better support system if you tried!) It is so obvious to me that you are incredibly loved by those around you. I am going to miss your entire wedding party and y’all will forever hold a special place in my heart. XOXO
