I met Tierra & Matt shooting the Bodamer wedding in Erie, PA, last fall! (Click HERE to catch a glimpse of that incredible day, too! It was the greatest!!) My first encounter with Tierra was in the bridal suite while she was getting ready with all the bridesmaids, and I was shooting detail shots. I introduced myself and she responded with “Oh, I know who you are! I know everything about you; I’m your number one fan.”

Later in the night, she formally introduced me to her high school sweetheart of over 7 years, Matt. He, too, admitted that he knew EVERYTHING about me, simply because Tierra talked about my work all the time. (Cue all the freaking heart eyes and blushing-face emojis, because I was completely taken back that anyone would be fan-girling over ME!) I asked if she regularly liked my photos and she responded with “I LIKE EVERY FREAKING PICTURE.” This was the beginning of our beautiful, earth-shattering, soul-sister friendship.

I am a sucker for high school sweethearts. I’ve said it a thousand times, but I truly think there is something so incredible about two people going through life together, and always coming out on top. You know, even those most awkward phases of life… braces, bad haircuts, terrible outfit compilations, questionable eyebrow decisions (*COUGH* ME! *COUGH*… I can say confidently that Jesse never would have given me a second glance had we met when we were 14 & 15. My eyebrows and braces were terrifying. HAHA!)

These two have been through it all together. High school, stressful college programs (Tierra has her BSN and Matt is an engineer!) moving away from home and then moving back again. I just love their story and I love the humans they are. They balance each other out perfectly and the 8 years they’ve spent together is simply the beginning of their beautiful journey through life.

When they finally got engaged this winter, I received the BEST message ever on Instagram. I had been hoping and waiting for Tierra to contact me saying she was engaged… and sure enough, she did! (On the same night she said YES!) My number one fan was finally a bride & the rest after that was history. I cannot WAIT to capture their wedding next July and dance the night away at another #BodieBash with all my favorite people! <3

Matt & Tierra- I may or may not have an unhealthy obsession with you two. (Sorry, not that sorry) I’m just so thankful that life has brought us together and I am being given the opportunity to document your incredible love story. Your engagement session was already wayyyy too much fun & totally had Jesse & I wishing we could hang out with y’all every weekend. Thanks for being MY people… well dressed, hilarious, fun-loving, and up for chasing the light wherever it’s showing off the most. I would crawl across boulders & hike through the woods for you guys ANY day. I JUST ADORE YOU TWO! Here’s to the next year of planning together & all the adventures that lie ahead! <3
